This British Standard is the UK implementation of
EN 60335-1:2012+A16:2023, incorporating corrigendum January 2014. It
is derived from IEC 60335-1:2010, incorporating amendment 1:2013 and
amendment 2:2016. It supersedes BS EN 60335-1:2012+A15:2021, which
will be withdrawn on 10 November 2026.
The start and finish of text introduced or altered by amendment is
indicated in the text by tags. Tags indicating changes to IEC text carry
the number of the !EC amendment. For example, text altered by !EC
amendment 1 is indicated by��-
Tags indicating changes by CENELEC carry the number of the CENELEC
amendment. For example, text altered by CENELEC amendment All is
indicated by 15:i> ®:i].
CENELEC common modifications have been implemented at the
appropriate places in the text. The start and finish of each common
modification is indicated in the text by tags ID«].
Where a common modification to an JEC amendment has been
introduced, the tags carry the number of the amendment. For example,
the common modifications introduced by CENELEC to IEC amendment 1
are indicated by ITi) @.
The UK participation in its preparation was entrusted to Technical
Committee CPL/61, Safety of household and similar electrical appliances.
A list of organizations represented on this committee can be obtained on
request to its committee manager.
